Whether you’re moving catch to market or preserving live product between trips, the air-cooled Live Haul ensures your haul stays cool and healthy throughout the journey.

The Live Haul’s plate evaporator is crafted from extruded aluminum to rugged Schedule 80 specifications, weighing over 5.5 lbs per square foot—ensuring exceptional durability in tough marine environments.

Its open design makes cleaning effortless, critical for seawater applications where corrosion, blockages, and contamination are constant challenges. Unlike traditional chiller barrel systems prone to freezing, clogging, and corrosion, the Live Haul’s plate evaporator stands up to the demanding conditions of seafood processing and live transport.

Built with replaceable zinc anodes and stainless steel tubing instead of copper, this system maximizes longevity and resistance to corrosion. Plus, it operates smoothly without needing constant water flow to prevent ice buildup, delivering dependable cooling performance even under fluctuating conditions—perfect for keeping your live catch healthy and fresh.

The Live Haul is powered by a rugged Tecumseh rotary compressor designed specifically for the harsh conditions of commercial fishing and seafood transport—whether pounding waves at sea or rough roads on land.

Unlike traditional reciprocating compressors that can suffer from spring damage or crankshaft failure, this rotary compressor offers unmatched durability and smooth start-up. Our integrated decompression and soft-start system, combined with 12V DC controls, allows the Live Haul to run efficiently on a compact 2200W Honda inverter generator—providing reliable cooling power without bulky equipment.

Built tough to handle vibration and shock, the Tecumseh rotary compressor ensures consistent performance you can depend on, keeping your live seafood chilled from boat to market.

Reliable Mobile Power Solutions for Every Operation

The Live Haul operates on any 115V/15A circuit with a minimum startup current of 25A. For dependable performance, we recommend the Honda 2200W inverter generator, proven reliable for this application.

For additional power—like running aeration systems—the Honda 3200W inverter generator offers extra capacity.

To power two Live Haul units simultaneously, pair two Honda 2200W generators using the Honda 2200i Companion for increased starting power and load capacity.

Alternatively, the Live Haul can run off a boat’s inverter system, but requires a high-quality 4000W inverter, a large battery bank, and an alternator delivering 100A–120A continuously (typically at 3600 RPM engine speed).

With these flexible power options, Live Haul delivers consistent cooling wherever your seafood operation takes you.

The Live Haul features a state-of-the-art digital thermostat, allowing you to easily set and maintain your ideal cooling temperature. With just a click, customize your cold water environment to ensure your live seafood stays healthy and fresh throughout transport.

Advanced Water Circulation for Optimal Live Seafood Care

Each Live Haul unit comes with a powerful Rule 1800 pump to ensure efficient water circulation, controlled conveniently by an integrated on/off switch.

While the plate evaporator can chill through conduction alone, the pump boosts performance by circulating water around the plate—preventing ice buildup at low temperatures and providing effective cooling even with minimal water. This makes it ideal for aerating products like live prawns in cages where weight reduction is important.

For fully submerged seafood, the pump delivers steady chilled water flow from the bottom to the top of the tote. When extra oxygenation is needed, an optional air pump and air stone system can be added to enhance live product vitality.

In some cases—such as pre-chilling tuna—natural fish movement keeps water flowing enough to prevent icing, making the Live Haul adaptable to a wide range of seafood transport needs.

Choosing the Right Live Haul Tote Size for Your Operation

All Live Haul totes share the same footprint and refrigeration capacity—the main difference is height, tailored for various handling and capacity needs.

High Totes: Offer maximum volume, perfect for larger catches or longer trips. Accessing the bottom can be tricky, so using drop-in baskets, nets, gaffs, or prawn cages helps manage product retrieval.

Medium Totes: Strike a balance between capacity and accessibility, ideal for tasks like pre-chilling tuna, allowing easier reach to the bottom without sacrificing volume.

Low Totes: Designed for smaller loads or quick access, these totes are perfect for handling smaller batches or products requiring frequent unloading and cleaning.

Our standard stocking tote is the white high tote, which can also be custom ordered in blue. Medium and low totes come in blue, with white available on orders of four or more.
